The friends of the S.A.A.F. Museum in Pretoria (SAAFRIENDS) undertake a number of events throughout the year for a range of different causes and with a number of different goals. From 5 to 9 October 2012, they will again be causing a stir at the museum, this time for the Tshwane Child Welfare.
The aim is for volunteers or members of the SAAFRIENDS Museum to remain in a Mirage F1 or a Cheetah for 100 hours with a 15-minute break every six hours. Sponsors will donate a predetermined amount for every hour, which will then be donated to the children. The ultimate goal is for the participants to stay in the four Mirages and one Cheetah for the full 100 hours, achieving a position in the Guinness World Book of Records and raising the maximum amount of money for the Tshwane Child Welfare.
